Chanced another session up at Ratty based on the Ceefax forecast which
suggested a F5 may be possible at Rattray Head - around a mile and a half
north of where we launch from. Brought the 8m along with me after
yesterday, and both Rob and I went for the biggest kjit we had as the waves
were small and we were unlikely to trash them. Planing fairly easily in the
early part of the session, particularly when catching the swells on the way
back to the beach. When the tide turned and started pushing in some small
waves sets were starting to form and we had a laugh trying to ride them
with the big kit - fun, but not epic by any stretch of the imagination. The
wind started to drop off even more by around 4pm, so we bogged upwind to
the carpark and went home. Forecast for next weekend is looking mental
though, so something to look forward to.
